Welcome to Student Employment!

The Student Employment Office (SEO), a part of the Financial Aid Office, assists students in finding employment in the UMass Lowell Community both on-campus as well as through the off-campus Job Location and Development (JLD) program.

Our Mission

The Student Employment Office supports the educational goals of UMass Lowell and its students by offering part-time on-campus and off-campus employment opportunities for students demonstrating financial need.  Our goal is to help students find employment that not only adds substantial value to University operations, but substantial value to each student's personal and professional development.

There are a wide variety of student jobs available.  Many university departments rely on student workers to lend vital support to the successful day-to-day operations of UMass Lowell.  Students also have the option to work off-campus in approved Community Service sites as part of their award.  The SEO helps employ approximately 900 students through Federal Work Study and Campus Employment during the academic year, and offers a limited number of summer employment positions.

The SEO collaborates with all departments, employers, community partners, and students, in order to provide a safe and enjoyable work experience for all.

The SEO works directly with Payroll and Human Resources in order to comply with all state and government regulations.  The SEO is located in University Crossing, Suite 280B.
